I love lace on cakes... It's a super elegant way to make your cakes runway worthy. Here is a small wedding cake I made with tons of lace and 2 sugar roses.

- Rafael Logrono is cake designer of Azucar, a custom cake shop located in Philadelphia, PA. Rafael has had cake decorating in his blood ever since he was born; his mother began selling cakes soon after Rafael’s birth, but it wasn’t until a few years ago that Rafael began designing cakes. Seeing his interest, Rafael’s 8th grade mathematics teacher ordered her son’s 1st birthday cake from him in November of 2008. Ever since, Rafael has not stopped cake decorating.

Sweet Charity Event 2011
In April of 2011, Rafael Logrono was invited to participate in the Des Alpes Chocolate Fashion Show at the Sweet Charity Event in Washington, D.C., where he dressed a model with a sugar dress inspired by Scarlett O’Hara. Some of the sugar accessories included a hand purse, pearls and a feathered hat, all created out of sugar.
